4. Utah Lake State Park

If the name of this park doesn’t intrigue you enough, the landscape will. Goblin Valley is an expansive natural exhibit of geological history, known for its layered red sandstone and rock formations. The park is so named for its fantastic stone goblins, or hoodoos, tall mushroom-shaped pillars that rise out of the flat bedrock. The landscape is often compared to Mars, but really it’s a perfect example of Earth’s evolution.
