Brake Repair Price, UT

Signs You Need a Brake Repair at Your Chrysler Dealer

Brakes are one of the most important components in your car. If your brakes are in good condition, you're taking a risk each time you get behind the wheel. As your Chrysler dealer, we'd like you to know some of the signs that you may need a brake repair soon. more Screeching Brakes Any unusual noises from your car are worrying, and an awful screeching noise when you mash the brakes is the worst. When you apply the brakes, brake fluid is forced into the brake hoses. This fluid is under pressure, and it exerts a hydraulic force on the brake calipers. These calipers are attached above your wheel rotors. The force from the fluid squeezes the calipers against the rotors and stops your wheels. The calipers have brake pads with a friction material covering attached to them. This material wears down a little each time you use your brakes. As a warning that your pads need to be changed, the manufacturers insert a metal shim into each pad. When the pad has reached the level that it needs to be changed, this metal shim will scrape against the rotor. This terrible screeching means it's time to change those pads. Brake Fluid Leak Brake fluid, as we've seen, is essential for your braking system to operate effectively. Without it, there would be no hydraulic pressure to close the calipers, and your brakes wouldn't engage. Brake fluid is kept in the brake fluid reservoir near the master brake cylinder. If this fluid starts leaking out, your brakes will be in serious trouble. Fluid can leak from the metal brake lines, the rubber brake hoses, and the reservoir itself. The rubber hoses will become less flexible with age, and they can start to crack. The brake lines are exposed to water splashing up from the ground, and this can cause rust. Finally, the reservoir can leak fluid from a damaged seal or worn connection. A puddle of slightly yellow cooking oil-like liquid on the ground means there's a fluid leak. Clunking Sounds Another disturbing sound that can signal a brake problem is a clunking noise from underneath your car. While several different parts of your car can go clunk when they have problems, two possibilities are a loosening in part of your brake system or damaged parts of your suspension. Your braking system is held together by nuts and bolts. If one or more of the bolts have sheared off or loosened, they make a noise as you drive. Damaged suspension components can also make a noise. A broken tie rod, a worn ball joint, or even a damaged wheel bearing will all make worrying sounds. Not attending to these sounds will cause more damage. Our technicians will investigate and fix the cause of the problem. If you're having a brake problem, call us right away at Price Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram. Our highly-trained technicians can fix any brake problem quickly and efficiently. Image via Pixabay.com

Common Alternator Issues and What They Mean

Your alternator keeps your car's battery charged and powers all of your car's electrical systems. Without a working alternator, your battery would have to supply all of your car's power by itself. A car battery only has a limited electrical capacity, and it can completely drain in less than an hour. An alternator that fails will cause your battery to die very quickly.  As your Chrysler dealer, we can help you when you need an alternator repair. more Anomalies in the Electrical System When your alternator is working normally, it can easily supply power to all of your car's systems. When the alternator begins to wear out, it produces less electrical power. Your electrical system has a fairly consistent power demand, and this results in an electrical shortfall. With limited power available, your car's computer has to assign power on a priority basis. Crucial components, like spark plugs, have a higher priority than others. Non-priority systems receive electricity but the supply is inconsistent. If a new system is switched on, for example, your CD player, power will be taken away from one of the other systems. This shifting power leads to problems like a sunroof that won't close, or a heated seat that won't warm up. These anomalies will grow more frequent as your alternator weakens. Hot Metal and Buring Rubber The smell of hot metal or burning rubber from your engine can be caused by several different things. One of the causes is a failing alternator. When your alternator gets weaker, it generates less power. Since the demand for your electrical system for power is fairly constant, the alternator will start working harder. An alternator that's overworking will start to heat up as it tries to produce more power. The resulting hot metal smell from the engine is a sign that the alternator needs to be checked. Your alternator is connected to the alternator belt, and this belt is connected to the crankshaft. As the crankshaft turns, it powers the alternator belt. The belt runs over a series of pulleys, causing the pulleys to spin. The spinning of these pulleys powers the devices connected to them. The alternator belt moves very fast, and it's possible for it to slightly slip off one of the pulleys. The slipped belt generates more friction and gives off a burning rubber smell. Battery Light The battery-shaped icon on your dash represents the electrical charging system. Sensors are connected to all the vital components in your car. They monitor the components for any signs of trouble. Your alternator produces around 14 volts, but as it ages it produces less power. Any drop in power output will cause the battery light to come on. You may see the battery light flicker on and off repeatedly. This is a sign of a weak alternator heating up as it tries to produce power. If you have any problem with your alternator, call us right away at Price Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram. Image via Pixabay.com

Pizza in Price, UT

3 of the Best Pizza Places Near Price, UT

There are days when only pizza will do, and when that craving hits, you need to know where to get the best pizza in Price, UT. We have a list of some of our favorites to share with you, and we think you'll come to love them as much as we do. more Big Don's Everyone in Price loves Big Don's, and it's easy to see why. They have great pizza (of course), the staff are friendly, fast, and helpful, and it's just a fun community space. We also love that they're willing to go the extra mile to make sure you're happy. Their main location is at 170 W 100 N, but they also have a food truck you might keep an eye out for. Don's has some interesting and unique pizzas, like the Greek Street (greek sausage, artichokes, olives, spinach, feta, and more) and the Krab Oscar (bacon, crab, asparagus, and more). There are also all the usuals, which you'll find on the menu under "Boring Classics." They've also got great ice cream and frozen yogurt, with rotating flavors. Juniper Pizza Cafe This place is at 40 W Main St and is always hopping. They have some gluten-free and vegan options here, and the service couldn't be better. The atmosphere is awesome--this is the perfect place to take friends for a chat or hang out with your family. The prices are also very reasonable, and they have both pizzas and wraps, salads, hot hoagies, and paninis. Try one of their specialty pizzas, like Hog Heaven, which has smoky pulled pork, pineapple and jalapenos, pickled onions, and BBQ sauce. We love the Bobby Meatball, which has meatballs, mozzarella and provolone, and finishes with fresh basil. You might also check out the Pretty Fly and the Johnny Utah. Grogg's Pinnacle Brewing Head just up the road to Helper, and at 1653 N Carbonville RD you'll find this amazing brewery with equally amazing pizza. In fact, all the food here is great, but the sourdough crust on their pizzas makes them unforgettable. Best of all, you can wash it down with one of Grogg's carefully brewed craft beers: just be sure to drink responsibly and never drink and drive. This is a fun place to visit with friends, and whatever you order, you won't be disappointed. We recommend the five-cheese gourmet pizza. They also have a traditional pepperoni and barbeque chicken, but be sure to at least consider the honey dijon turkey pizza. Their Hawaiian comes with a twist, too: they put teriyaki sauce on it. The stroganoff pizza is another favorite, piled high with shredded beef, mushrooms, a four-cheese blend, and sour cream. These are just a few great spots for pizza in our area, and we hope you'll like them as much as we do. Hiking Trail

4 of the Best Bike Paths and Biking Trails Near Price, UT

Price, UT is perfectly placed as a mountain biking destination, with lots of great biking trails to explore nearby. There's nothing more exhilarating than heading out for a day in the hills, so we've put together a list of the best mountain bike paths nearby for you to explore. more 1. Luke's Loop Luke's Loop combines several trails to make a fast singletrack loop that's just over eight miles long. It's the perfect cross-country route for intermediate riders, as it allows for some great technical riding, without the added complications of significant elevation loss or gain. It's usually ridden in a clockwise direction, starting from the trailhead off 900 North. Some parts of this trail can be covered by flash floods and may end up underwater, so make sure you check the weather forecast before you ride. 2. Dead Dog Loop Dead Dog Loop is not for the faint-hearted. It's very much an experts only ride, but for those who know what they're doing it can be great fun. You'll find a mixture of sand, dirt, and rocks under your wheels, with the occasional dead stump to make things more interesting. It's mostly singletrack throughout its length, but there's some doubletrack too. Again, this loop is generally ridden in a clockwise direction, starting from the main trailhead at the parking lot near the Kenilworth-Price Backroad. Be careful of the sharp drop-off just before you hit the doubletrack section at the northeastern end of the loop – while there is a wooden ramp in place, it can be hard to see this feature until you're right on top of it. The loop is a little under 3 miles long. 3. Blackhawk Trail The Blackhawk Trail is located to the south of Provo, UT, and is often described as the backbone of the Mt. Nebo network of trails that follow the National Scenic Byway. Look out for horses when you're on the trail; the nearby Blackhawk Campground allows them, and they can often be seen using the trail. The trail is an out and back route that passes through a range of landscapes, from open meadows to peaceful, shaded woodlands. The northern section of the trail sees considerably more use than the south. In fact, the southern end can sometimes be hard to follow, so it's worth bringing a map with you if you have one. 4. New Route Trail The New Route trail is a fairly easy, long loop, that is located near Joe's Valley Reservoir. Starting with an uneventful climb, the trail opens out through wildflower meadows and some excellent views. The trail is just under 30 miles long and is well worth the drive to get there, not least because of the final, flowing descent to the parking lot. Be careful – sections of the trail can be impassable after heavy rain. Got another trail that should be on this list? Visit Price CDJR today and let us know. Image via Pixabay.com

Transmission

Does Your Jeep or RAM Need a Transmission Repair? Visit Your Jeep Dealer Today

Most drivers view a transmission repair as both stressful and expensive, but that doesn't have to be the case. Regular service visits to your Jeep dealer will spot most problems and prevent them from becoming serious. Even with the best servicing, however, in time components can still wear out or your transmission can suffer damage. These are some of the signs from your dealer that your transmission may need to be repaired. more Noise When You're in Neutral If you suspect you may have a transmission problem, one of the ways you can check is to shift your transmission into neutral. In neutral, your transmission shouldn't make any noise. If you hear a bumping sound from the transmission, the transmission fluid may be low and we can check and top it up for you. A lot of noise from the transmission can mean a more serious problem like damaged gear teeth or a damaged bearing. Hesitation Shifting Gears Shifting gears should always be smooth and easy. Any delay or difficulty in shifting gears is a sign that there's a transmission problem. In an automatic transmission, you will feel a delay in shifting from park to drive. A manual transmission will have a disconnect between your engine's RPMs and your actual speed as the RPMs are higher than they should be. Dirty Transmission Fluid New transmission fluid is red and viscous, and it is designed to lubricate the parts in your transmission. As the fluid circulates, it will collect minute metal pieces and other debris. These particles are absorbed by the fluid and make it heavier and less viscous. If the transmission fluid is not changed regularly, this contamination can also make the fluid more susceptible to burning in the heat of the transmission. Weird Noises From the Transmission A healthy transmission shouldn't make any noise while it works. Buzzing, humming, and clunking sounds from your transmission are not only unnerving but a sign that something isn't right. Our technicians will examine the transmission and we'll repair the problem. In most cases, the solution can be as easy as replacing the worn-out transmission fluid. Leaking Fluid Your transmission is filled with hundreds of parts, many of which depend on friction to work. The parts are constantly moving at speed when your car moves, and the fluid helps to control the temperature and lubricate the parts to prevent damage. If your transmission develops a leak and enough fluid is lost, your transmission's temperature will rise and it can quickly start to overheat. If your transmission shows signs that it's straining, we advise that you bring your car in for a check-up. A transmission problem will only get worse the longer it goes on and a damaged transmission can cause additional problems. If you experience any of the issues above, call our service center immediately at Price Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram. Our expert service technicians will repair your car's transmission problem.
